I find podcasts to be a great source of topical journalism. If you have not tapped into this media, you are missing out on some of the best content available today. Certainly on my Top 5 list is The New Evangelicals podcast with Tim Whitaker. The first 15 months (about 70 weekly episodes beginning March of 2021) is treasure trove of excellent interviews across the spectrum of relevant issues for "big tent" Christianity, i.e. not characterized by defining and monitoring the boundaries of exclusive faith communities.

TNE is a leader in that part of the faith community understood as "post-evangelical" and is a safe space for individuals asking honest questions and those experiencing a deconstruction of their faith (See my blog posts June/July/August 2022). This community emphasizes respecting others in the freedom of thought and belief while calling out abusive Christian leadership, church practices that exclude and dehumanize, and actively resisting the current movement toward Christian Nationalism.

I consider the strengths of this podcast to be the quality and variety of the guests and Tim's natural skill as an interviewer. TNE uses an interview format and always begins with the life story of the guest. Give it a listen and you will not be disappointed.
